Burn More, Walk Less?

Let us look at Japanese Interval Training, also known as the Japanese High-Intensity Walking Technique. It is not just an ordinary or monotonous walk.

How Does It Work?

The technique involves walking for 30 minutes, divided into five sets of 6 minutes each.

In every set, you walk fast for 3 minutes, followed by a slow walk for 3 minutes.

Why Is It Effective?

During the fast-walking intervals, your heart and lungs are challenged, helping to improve aerobic capacity, endurance, and overall cardiovascular fitness.

Important: It is important not to skip the warm-up before you begin and the cool-down once you finish.

Benefits of Japanese Interval Training

According to studies from Japan, practicing this technique regularly can improve endurance, cardiac fitness, muscle strength, coordination, and balance.

In fact, Dr. Carl Anthony and Dr. Charles Centaur from Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of California have also supported the effectiveness of this approach.

Simple Yet Effective

Overall, it is a simple yet effective walking technique. When compared with regular walking or simply aiming for 10,000 steps a day, this high-intensity walking method may offer greater health benefits.
